Making the Diagnosis

There's a simple blood test that looks for human antibodies against rubella. Unfortunately, it may miss low-level infections, and it also tends to miss the disease until the rash is two days old. The symptoms of rubella, however, are fairly distinctive, making it easy for a doctor to diagnose.
